Chronic and prolonged stress can negatively impact the nervous system, leaving you feeling overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and unable to keep up with demands at home or at work. Using mindfulness based stress reduction techniques can help to correct nervous system functioning, eliminate the “fight or flight” stress response, and restore balance in your life.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
If you suffer with OCD, you may often feel trapped and overwhelmed in trying to manage intrusive thoughts, repetitive behaviours, and rituals. This can increase susceptibility to social isolation, depression, anxiety, and in some cases, thoughts of self-harm. Supporting someone with OCD requires more than just working on the accompanying anxiety; I provide a supportive environment in which individuals can learn to reduce the impact of their intrusive thoughts through the use of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy.
